An inch

An inch too close
An inch too far
An inch to show
Where we are

A hairs breath to you
A mile to me
A smile to you
A isle to me

Aye my beautiful lass
What i see is beyond the truth
The lie of an inch
Never quite shows itself to you

But the burden is mine to bear
And all I can do is just stare
Across this barrier miles to distant
So close but so persistent

Now i return to these tasks mundane
Driving me slowly insane
The times that where I survive
Taxing my heart and my brain

my time!

for in the future we have visions of the past
as nothing is still and nothing will last
for the now is never enough
fleeting forever from our touch.

As we move through the tides of time
we always wish to forget our crimes
those random acts of life
that give us so much strife.

but as hope glimmers in the wind
as we always believe what could be
never a closer star was wished upon.
to see a new reality of me.

selfish yes I have become
to control the tides of time
for power and curiosity
have been my crimes.

one more step one more wound
in the sands of time
believe me my friend
it is but a way to your  forever after.

still chasing reality!
